Position: Managing Director

A firm that specializes in providing expert guidance to companies facing financial distress, operational challenges, restructuring, and bankruptcy situations is looking to bring on a Managing Director. The team works closely with clients to assess their needs, develop strategic solutions, and implement turnaround and restructuring plans that restore financial health and operational efficiency.
The Director will play a pivotal role in supporting turnaround, restructuring, and bankruptcy efforts. This includes performing in-depth financial analyses, assessing operational strategies, and assisting in the development and implementation of performance improvement and restructuring plans. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and thrives under tight deadlines in high-pressure situations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead development and oversight of cash flow forecasts, DIP budgets, and 13-week cash models, including scenario analysis, breakeven, and profitability assessments.
* Partner with client personnel to monitor disbursements, track budget compliance, prepare weekly variance reports, and develop liquidity maximization strategies.
* Identify and analyze operational and financial performance issues, delivering actionable recommendations.
* Prepare and present client-ready insights and deliverables, including presentations highlighting key assumptions, forecast drivers, and cash flow results.
* Support turnaround and restructuring strategies, including business planning, cost reduction, liquidity assessment, and debt renegotiation.
* Drive the development and execution of bankruptcy-related filings (SOFAs, schedules, 1st days), support preparation for Initial Debtor Interview, and fulfill court and stakeholder information requests.
* Own and oversee production of monthly operating reports, court filings, and disclosure statement support, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal and DIP lender requirements.
* Manage stakeholder engagement and support negotiations with creditors, equity holders, vendors, and legal advisors.
* Supervise transaction process support, coordinating with client teams and claims agents while ensuring completeness, accuracy, and readiness for leadership review.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in finance, Economics, Business, or a related field (MBA, CFA, or CPA preferred).
* 5-8 years of experience in financial analysis, restructuring, bankruptcy consulting, or turnaround management.
* Strong understanding of bankruptcy proceedings (Chapter 11, Chapter 7), restructuring frameworks, and financial modeling and reporting requirements
* Experience with 3 statement financials, cash flow analysis, and debt restructuring.
* Familiarity with bankruptcy code and legal requirements is a plus. * Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and financial analysis tools.
* Familiarity with Internet-based financial research resources for corporate information, SEC filings, competitive data, etc.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience in client-facing roles.
* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
* Ability to travel up to 50%
