Restricted Funds Accountant ISt. Edward's University is seeking a Restricted Fund Accountant I to join the Finance team. This individual will perform standard accounting functions such as ledger maintenance, journal entry posting, complex analyses and reconciliations to include, but not limited to: grants, endowments, loan funds, financial aid and other general ledger accounts. Ensure that accounting activities are carried out in accordance with established policies, procedures and generally accepted accounting principles. The incumbent will also analyze financial and operating data and prepare management reports and financial statements, as required.
For consideration, a Bachelor's degree in accounting required. At least one year of experience in accounting role. Experience in higher education preferred. Skill in developing and using complex spreadsheets. Ability to evaluate and recommend appropriate accounting entries for transactions; apply appropriate accounting concepts and theories; analyze financial data, research accounting issues and recommend solutions. Establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to work with minimal supervision and comply with internal and external deadlines. Non-profit and fund accounting, FASB, GAAP, government grants, federal financial aid, external audits and single audit experience is a must. Must possess the ability to successfully pass a criminal background check.
