Job summary

LER Product Design, LLC seeks an Application Engineer - Restraints to design and validate restraints system components for automotive programs in Columbus, Indiana, with occasional travel to unanticipated worksites across the U.S. The role includes translating customer and regulatory requirements into engineering targets and supporting PPAP for mass production.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in mechanical engineering or related field with 1 year of related experience, or Bachelor's with 3 years of related experience.
• Experience in restraints system development and validation testing, FMVSS, NCAP, DFMEA, AutoCAD, and sled testing.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, validate, and release restraints system components (seatbelts, airbags, steering wheels, buckles, height adjusters).
• Monitor interior trim and interfacing components against benchmarks and requirements.
• Translate customer, regulatory, and product requirements into engineering targets.
