Habitat for Humanity Portland Region is seeking a Recycling Associate for the West Portland ReStore to join our team in Portland, OR. You will work with store staff and volunteers to inspect, sort, and process recyclable materials while delivering friendly customer service and protecting our mission of equity and reuse.

The role covers two store locations (Tigard and Beaverton) with shifts that support opening hours; you will help guide volunteers, ensure safety, and engage donors in Habitat's

Qualifikationen

• One year of customer service experience.
• Attention to detail and a passion for reuse and recycling.
• Skilled at working in a team of staff and volunteers while following leadership.
• Ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Knowledge of, or ability to learn, safe use of forklift, pallet jack and dolly.

Aufgaben

• Demonstrating knowledge and proficiency in recycling and sustainability initiatives at the ReStore, particularly including the RecycleOn Center.
• Greeting the public, accepting and inspecting recycling materials that meet criteria.
• Partnering with the Store Volunteer Coordinator to guide volunteers.
• Processing, inspecting, and reducing contamination in recycling streams.
• Contributing to a clean and organized facility including receiving areas and break rooms.
• Supporting donation processing by guiding correct sorting of waste vs. recyclables.
• Assisting with loading, unloading, and sorting recycling materials.
• Engaging customers, donors, and community members in Habitat's mission.
• Supporting recycling tasks at other ReStore locations as needed.
