Job summary

Habitat for Humanity of Orange County seeks a ReStore Manager to lead all retail operations, drive revenue growth, and ensure operational excellence. You will manage staff and volunteers, optimize merchandising, and maintain safety and compliance while delivering an outstanding customer experience.

You will oversee financial stewardship, reporting, and community engagement, partnering with Habitat OC marketing for local promotions and outreach. A hands-on leader is required.

## Description| || --- || **Job Summary/Position Overview:** || The ReStore Manager leads all aspects of retail operations for a Habitat for Humanity of Orange County ReStore location. This role is accountable for driving revenue growth, profitability, operational excellence, and team performance while advancing Habitat OC’s mission through community engagement and customer experience. The ReStore Manager ensures financial stewardship, strong merchandising execution, staff and volunteer development, and full compliance with safety and operational standards. This position requires a hands-on leader who can operate strategically while remaining engaged in daily store execution. || **Duties/Responsibilities:** || **Financial & Operational Management** * Drive and exceed annual sales and profitability targets. * Manage store revenue, including cash handling controls, deposit reconciliation, and banking procedures. * Monitor key performance indicators, sales trends, and expense controls to optimize financial results. * Oversee inventory management, pricing strategy, and shrink control. * Conduct and reconcile physical inventories. * Ensure accurate administrative reporting and operational documentation. **Store Operations & Merchandising** * Optimize store layout, product placement, and displays to maximize revenue and customer flow. * Oversee merchandising standards and train staff in effective product presentation. * Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and safety. * Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, health, and operational regulations. * Implement efficient scheduling to balance productivity and labor costs. **Leadership & Talent Development** * Recruit, hire, onboard, and retain store associates and support managers. * Provide coaching, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities. * Conduct performance evaluations and manage corrective action when needed. * Develop internal talent pipelines and succession planning. * Recruit, train, and engage volunteers to support store operations. **Customer Experience & Community Engagement** * Establish and maintain a strong culture of customer service and loyalty. * Address customer concerns and ensure timely resolution. * Represent ReStore at community and business networking events. * Partner with Habitat OC marketing to execute local promotional initiatives. * Implement marketing efforts using advertising, social media, and outreach strategies. **Hands-On Operational Support** * Participate in day-to-day store activities as needed, including cashiering, customer service, and assisting with donation intake and merchandise handling. |## Qualifications| || --- || **Skills & Knowledge** || * Strong leadership, coaching, and employee development capability * Financial acumen with ability to interpret sales and operational data * Knowledge of retail operations, merchandising, and inventory management * Strong interpersonal and communication skills * Organizational and problem-solving ability * Ability to balance strategic oversight with operational execution * Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. || **Education & Experience** || * Minimum 3 years of retail management experience required * Minimum 7 years of progressive work experience * Experience managing revenue targets and staff performance preferred * Experience working with volunteers or in a nonprofit environment is a plus |**Physical Requirements**This role requires frequent standing and walking throughout the store environment.
