Job summary

Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia is hiring a part-time ReStore Associate to support daily operations, assist donors and customers, and maintain a welcoming showroom and front desk. You will help unload donations, price items, and guide customers through purchases with a friendly, professional approach. Prior experience is not required.

A high school diploma or GED is expected, along with strong communication and problem-solving abilities. Weekend availability is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Assist with unloading donations and stocking showroom floor.
• Greet customers and assist through the purchase process; provide receipts.
• Answer phones and direct customers to the correct area; upsell as needed.
• Assist with loading/unloading merchandise and recycling efforts.

Reports directly to: ReStore ManagerDepartment: ReStore; Non-ExemptService week (days/hours): Sunday - Saturday; Part-Time, Shifts Vary, 24 hours a weekRequired meetings: Monthly all-staff meetings, all scheduled meetingPosition ObjectiveAt Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia(“HFHP”), we are builders who work alongside, not for others. The ReStore Associate represents the Habitat brand through courteous interactions with potential donors and customers to support our mission and support ReStore operations.Specific Duties:Maintain a clean and safe work area.Putting incoming donations from receiving docks in the proper location.Helping to unload donation trucks in the warehouse as instructed by ReStore Manager.Moving priced items to the showroom floor.Assist customers through the purchase process.Adhering to the ReStore’s recycling efforts.Assisting customers and donors in loading and unloading merchandise.Cashier duties:Welcoming customersAnswering the front desk phoneAssist customers through the purchase processProvide general assistance to customers, answering questions and directing them to the correct area.Ensuring all prices and quantities are accurate and providing a receipt to every customer.Maintain a clean and accessible front desk areaAll other duties as assigned.Required Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skills:No experience is necessary.High School Diploma or GEDMust be professional in appearance and a good ambassador of the Habitat brand.Demonstrates problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.Ability to work well and communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.Ability to establish, foster, and maintain effective working relationships with staff, volunteers, and the public.Ability to work weekends when needed.Able to arrive at work promptly and dress neatly in a Habitat for Humanity shirt.Able to do heavy lifting up to 50 poundsTeam Player able to help in the warehouse and sales floor as needed.Benefits:This position is eligible for paid vacation, sick time, and holidays according to days and hours worked.
