Job summary

Habitat for Humanity Greater Raleigh is seeking a part-time ReStore Associate to support day-to-day operations of the front end, sales floor, and donation processing. You will work with volunteers to complete tasks efficiently and provide excellent service to donors, customers, and volunteers.

The role requires availability evenings and weekends, with an expected 30-hour week, Monday through Saturday, including Saturday shifts. Prior retail experience is preferred.

Summary

The ReStore Associate will be expected to leverage available volunteers to accomplish daily tasks in an efficient manner. In addition, the ReStore Associate will be responsible for store projects that will be assigned to her/him as needed within the store and must provide excellent customer service to donors, customers on the sales floor, customers at the front end (register), and regular volunteers as well as Community Service members.

Summary

Reporting to the ReStore Assistant Store Manager, the ReStore Associate will assist with day-to-day operations of the store front end, sales floor, and receiving/processing of donations in the back room. The ReStore Associate will be expected to leverage available volunteers to accomplish daily tasks in an efficient manner. In addition, the ReStore Associate will be responsible for store projects that will be assigned to her/him as needed within the store and must provide excellent customer service to donors, customers on the sales floor, customers at the front end (register), and regular volunteers as well as Community Service members. This is a part‑time non‑exempt position requiring flexibility to work evening and weekend hours as needed. The ReStore Associate will likely spend, on average, at least five days per week, Monday-Saturday (30-hour work week). Saturday availability is required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Providing excellent customer service to customers and donors of the ReStore
• Have the ability and desire to communicate our mission and purpose to volunteers and customers
• Ensure donation area is neat, clean, and organized
• Clean and partner with management team to price and place donated goods
• Evaluate condition/price of incoming merchandise to ensure it is in sellable condition and consistent with ReStore product acceptance standards
• Ensure volunteers complete daily tasks in a timely and safe manner
• Work on daily tasks assigned by Restore leadership team

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to be on their feet for long periods of time. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, carry, as well as pulling and reaching to move items onto trucks and into stores. Position requires the ability to frequently lift products/supplies up to 50lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates primarily in a retail/warehouse environment and can require operating equipment such as a forklift, power tools, hand tools, ladders, price guns, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment. Occasionally works in outside conditions that can include heat, humidity, and high noise levels.
