Job summary

Greater Rochester Habitat for Humanity is seeking a ReStore Associate to support daily store operations, assist customers, donors, and volunteers, and help with donations and merchandise organization.

You will drive the donation truck, screen donations, load/unload items, and help maintain a safe, inviting store and warehouse environment for staff and volunteers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Retail and customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to shoppers and donors.
• Assist with donations, merchandise pricing and organization.
• Support volunteers and lead as needed.

Reports to: ReStore Manager

About the Role

The ReStore Associate supports daily store operations, helping shoppers, donors, and volunteers. This includes assisting customers, processing and moving merchandise, organizing donations, and supporting volunteers. Associates also drive ReStore trucks to pick up donations, load/unload items, and serve as ambassadors of Habitat for Humanity's mission to build homes, communities, and hope!

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver excellent customer service to shoppers and donors
• Drive donation truck
• Load/unload both large and small donations safely
• Screen donations, thank donors, complete paperwork
• Receive, price, and organize donated items
• Maintain clean, safe, and inviting store and warehouse spaces
• Operate the cash register as needed
• Lead and support volunteers

Work Environment

Retail store, warehouse, and on-the-road (in all weather). Noise and physical activity are frequent.

Requirements

• Valid NYS Driver’s License and insurable driving record, require
• Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly, heavier with assistance
• Retail and customer service experience preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, multilingual is a plus
• Comfortable standing, bending, and moving throughout the day
• High school diploma or equivalent required
