Job summary

Chicago Public Schools is seeking a Restorative Justice Coordinator to facilitate restorative practices, build schoolwide systems, and advance restorative justice across CPS schools. You will work with students, staff, families, and administrators to implement restorative strategies and positive youth development.

You will lead training, design programs, and connect schools with community partners, aiming to cultivate healing, accountability, and relationships across the CPS community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Public Administration, Education or Human Services preferred.
• Experience in a school setting or working with adolescents.
• Two years of training and/or experience in restorative justice and circle practice.
• Ability to work after school and weekend hours.
• Four years of direct experience implementing conflict mediation and positive youth development in school or community settings.
• Four years of building relationships with students, teachers, administration, parents, and community partners.
• Ability to interface with students, families, teachers, school leaders, and support staff to find creative solutions.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate restorative practices across universal, targeted, and intensive tiers with all school community stakeholders.
• Facilitate Tier 1 proactive restorative practices with administrators, staff, students, and families.
• Connect students, families, staff and admins to Tier 2 and 3 restorative practices.
• Set up and maintain physical space for restorative work across tiers (e.g., Peace Room).
• Provide training and coaching to build capacity in restorative justice mindset and skills.
• Design and lead staff training on restorative justice and develop scope & sequence.
• Model and co-facilitate practices in classrooms and staff meetings to build staff capacity.
