Restorative Nursing Assistant - Per Diem (Healthcare)

The Restorative Nursing Assistant (RNA) provides essential support to residents by assisting with mobility, personal hygiene, and daily activities to promote independence and well-being.

Responsibilities

1. Assist residents with exercises, transfers, ambulation, and range of motion activities.
2. Support residents in bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene.
3. Change resident positions to prevent skin issues and assist with skin care and pressure relief measures.
4. Help residents prepare for medical tests, social activities, and appointments.
5. Assist with elimination needs, including catheter care and bedpan sanitation.
6. Create a warm, positive, and calm environment for residents.
7. Complete and maintain accurate charting of care provided.
8. Report significant changes in resident condition to appropriate healthcare team members.
9. Support the Therapy Department with range of motion exercises as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current CNA certification, Restorative Aide Training, and CPR certification.
• One year of experience in a long-term care setting preferred.
• Ability to read, understand, and communicate policies and procedures effectively.
• Physical ability to perform job functions, including lifting up to 50 pounds and frequent standing or walking.
• Knowledge of PCC and compliance with licensing requirements.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

Requires frequent standing, walking, reaching, and pushing/pulling; occasional climbing, stooping, and crouching; and the ability to perceive visual details. The work environment is typically low to moderate noise, with accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.
