Certified Nursing Assistant - Per Diem or Part Time (Healthcare)

General Purpose

The primary purpose of your job is to provide assigned residents with routine daily nursing care and services according to their assessment and care plan, as directed by your supervisors.

Essential Duties

1. Identify residents using wristbands or photo ID before providing treatments or services.
2. Use authorized abbreviations when recording information.
3. Report changes in residents' conditions promptly to the Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse.
4. Document all entries accurately on flow sheets, notes, and charts.
5. Report all accidents and incidents observed during your shift.
6. Maintain confidentiality of residents' protected health information and report any violations.
7. Perform only those nursing procedures you are trained for.
8. Prepare residents' rooms and assist with greeting and transferring residents.
9. Assist residents with personal care, mobility, and daily functions.
10. Monitor and record vital signs and food/fluid intake, reporting any changes.
11. Ensure residents' comfort and safety, responding promptly to calls.
12. Assist with medical preparations and post-meal care.
13. Follow established policies on exposure to hazardous materials and infection control.
14. Participate in team meetings and report any grievances or complaints.
15. Perform restorative procedures and assist with resident examinations.
16. Observe and report skin integrity issues and injuries.
17. Immediately notify supervisors of any missing residents or emergencies.
18. Report defective equipment and maintain proper use of trained tools.
19. Keep resident information confidential and report any suspected abuse or misappropriation.
20. Respect residents' treatment refusals and report these to your supervisor.

Supervisory Requirements

• This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10th-grade education.

Language Skills

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret various documents.
• Effective communication skills with managers and staff.

Mathematical Skills

• Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts and solve practical problems.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

• Licensed Certified Nursing Assistant per state laws.
• CPR certification required.

Physical Demands

Must be able to lift/move up to 25 pounds occasionally, and perform tasks involving sitting, standing, walking, and communication. Assist in emergency evacuations if needed.
