Job summary

Diversicare is seeking a dedicated Restorative Nursing Assistant to support residents across one of our care centers. You will implement restorative programs, assist with mobility and activities of daily living, and document progress daily for ongoing care planning.

As a team member, you will collaborate with nurses and therapists, maintain clear communication, and advocate for residents, ensuring high-quality, compassionate care in a welcoming environment.

Qualifications

• Nursing Assistant Certification from the state, where required.
• Good communication skills with the ability to read and write English.
• Ability to document appropriately and perform technical procedures.
• Genuine caring for and interest in resident.
• A strong belief in the Restorative Nursing Philosophy.

Responsibilities

• Provide restorative nursing techniques to residents to improve quality of life.
• Perform range of motion, strengthening, ambulation and transfer training.
• Document daily on treatment grid and weekly on progress notes.
• Notify restorative nurse coordinator or therapy department of problems or reassessments.
• Report to the Director of Nursing and chart changes in resident condition.
• Reinforce team management of restorative programs with nurse aides.
• Attend meetings and in-services as required.
• Serve as a resident advocate and motivate others.

Responsibilities

As a key member of the nursing team, you will provide restorative nursing techniques to those residents assigned to improve the resident’s quality of life through structured treatment modalities. Responsibilities include:

1. Performs programs on all identified residents. To include but not limited to:

• Range of motion (passive/active)
• General strengthening exercises
• Ambulation and transfer training
• ADL’s
• Nursing whirlpools as assigned
• Placement of restorative devices and equipment
• Positioning
• Restorative feeding program

2. Document daily on treatment grid and weekly on progress notes.

3.Notifies restorative nurse coordinator or appropriate therapy departmentof problems, referrals or reassessments needed.

4. Reports to the Director of Nursing and charts significant change in resident’s condition or motivational level.

5. Reinforces team management of B/B program and works with nurse aides on B/B procedures.

6. Attends meetings and in-services as required.

7. Serves as a resident advocate at all times. Motivates others.
