Job summary

Diversicare is seeking a dedicated Nursing Assistant to provide restorative nursing care to residents in our skilled nursing and long-term care centers. You will implement restorative programs, document progress, and collaborate with the nursing team to enhance residents' quality of life.

Applicants should hold a Nursing Assistant Certification, communicate effectively in English, and demonstrate genuine care for residents.

Qualifications

• Certified Nursing Assistant (state required).
• Excellent communication in reading/writing English.
• Ability to accurately document care.
• Genuine care for residents and strong restorative philosophy.
• Willingness to work with the nursing team.

Responsibilities

• Perform restorative nursing programs to improve residents' quality of life.
• Follow routines: ROM, strengthening, ambulation, ADLs, whirlpools.
• Document daily on treatment grid and weekly progress notes.
• Notify supervisor of problems or needs for reassessment.
• Report changes to Director of Nursing and chart significant findings.
• Assist with B/B procedures and participate in team meetings.
• Advocate for residents and maintain professional standards.

Responsibilities

As a key member of the nursing team, you will provide restorative nursing techniques to those residents assigned to improve the resident’s quality of life through structured treatment modalities. Responsibilities include:

1. Performs programs on all identified residents. To include but not limited to:

• Range of motion (passive/active)
• General strengthening exercises
• Ambulation and transfer training
• ADL’s
• Nursing whirlpools as assigned
• Placement of restorative devices and equipment
• Positioning
• Restorative feeding program

2. Document daily on treatment grid and weekly on progress notes.

3.Notifies restorative nurse coordinator or appropriate therapy departmentof problems, referrals or reassessments needed.

4. Reports to the Director of Nursing and charts significant change in resident’s condition or motivational level.

5. Reinforces team management of B/B program and works with nurse aides on B/B procedures.

6. Attends meetings and in-services as required.

7. Serves as a resident advocate at all times. Motivates others.

Qualifications

• Nursing Assistant Certification from the state, where required.
• Good communication skills with the ability to read and write the English language.
• Ability to document appropriately and perform technical procedures.
• Genuine caring for and interest in resident.
• A strong belief in the Restorative Nursing Philosophy.
