Qualifications

• Certified Nursing Assistant (state certification) is required.
• Excellent communication skills in reading and writing English.
• Ability to document accurately and perform technical procedures.
• Genuine caring for residents and interest in restorative care.
• Belief in the Restorative Nursing Philosophy.

Responsibilities

• Perform programs for identified residents, including ROM and strengthening exercises.
• Assist with ambulation, transfers, ADLs, and restorative activities.
• Administer nursing care and monitor residents' progress daily.
• Document progression on treatment grids and progress notes.
• Notify nursing staff of problems or needed reassessments.
• Support team management of restorative care and participate in meetings.

Responsibilities

• Performs programs on all identified residents. To include but not limited to:
• Range of motion (passive/active)
• General strengthening exercises
• Ambulation and transfer training
• ADL’s
• Nursing whirlpools as assigned
• Placement of restorative devices and equipment
• Positioning
• Restorative feeding program
• Document daily on treatment grid and weekly on progress notes.
• Notifies restorative nurse coordinator or appropriate therapy department of problems, referrals or reassessments needed.
• Reports to the Director of Nursing and charts significant change in resident’s condition or motivational level.
• Reinforces team management of B/B program and works with nurse aides on B/B procedures.
• Attends meetings and in-services as required.
• Serves as a resident advocate at all times. Motivates others.

Qualifications

• Nursing Assistant Certification from the state, where required.
• Good communication skills with the ability to read and write the English language.
• Ability to document appropriately and perform technical procedures.
• Genuine caring for and interest in resident.
• A strong belief in the Restorative Nursing Philosophy.
