Job summary

Aegis Therapies is seeking a Wellness Instructor in Restorative Care to join our Rehabilitation Therapy Team at the Frank M Tejeda Texas State Veterans Home in Floresville. This PRN, weekend-day position involves delivering wellness, fitness and exercise programs to residents under supervision, with training provided on site.

You will coordinate with therapists, receive restorative training, and handle exclusive restorative duties such as ambulation, transfers, ROM, and daily care tasks designed

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• Current CNA certification in state of practice.
• Specialty fitness certification preferred.
• Experience in exercise and activity training with seniors preferred.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Director of Rehabilitation / Therapy and work exclusively with the therapy team to provide knowledge and expertise in delivering appropriate wellness, fitness, and exercise programs.
• Receive full restorative training provided onsite. No restorative experience necessary, (CNA Certification Required)
• Assist in the restorative care of patients as directed.
• Exclusive restorative responsibilities (Ambulation, transfer training, bed mobility, active/passive range of motion, dressing/grooming, splint/prosthesis care) with limited or none of the “less desirable” tasks that often accompany a CNA position.
