Position Summary:
The Restorative CNA carries out patient-related restorative nursing functions as pre-determined for each patient and assigned by the Restorative Nurse, in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards.
Education, Experience, and Licensure Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of a State-approved CNA program
- Currently registered/licensed in applicable State. Must maintain an active license in good standing throughout employment.
- Completed restorative nursing training
- One (1) year geriatric nursing experience preferred
- CPR certification upon hire or during orientation. CPR certification must remain current during employment.
Specific Job Requirements:
- Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
- Be knowledgeable of practices, procedures, laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in the post-acute care facility
- Implement and interpret department programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures
- Perform proficiently in all competency areas including patient rights, safety, and sanitation
- Maintain professional relationships with all associates, vendors, etc.
- Maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and confidential information
- Understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures
- Display integrity and professionalism by adhering to Life Care’s Code of Conduct and complete mandatory compliance training
Essential Functions:
- Lift, turn, move, position, and transport patients
- Assist patients with baths, showers, grooming, feeding, and toileting
- Accurately document and chart patient care
- Respond promptly to call lights
- Provide physician-ordered exercises to patients
- Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude
- Assist in patient evacuation
- Maintain dependable, regular attendance
- Use reasoning skills and good judgment
- Communicate effectively within an interdisciplinary team
- Perform physical activities such as sitting, standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, and walking during work hours
- Read, write, speak, and understand English
