Job summary

Ryze at Homewood in Glenwood, IL seeks a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant to provide restorative care aligned with the resident's plan of care, under the direction of the restorative nurse. You will support ambulation, ROM, ADLs, feeding devices, splints, and bladder retraining, aiming to maintain function and independence.

The role emphasizes collaboration with nursing staff, participation in care plan conferences, accurate documentation, and training coworkers on assistive devices.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED preferred.
• Certified as a CNA in IL/IN or eligible within 120 days.
• Certified in CPR.
• Ability to communicate in English with patients, families, and staff.
• Ability to learn and use current technology.
• One-year experience in long-term care preferred.
• Knowledge of restorative nursing assistant functions or complete restorative course within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides input to restorative nurse for developing the restorative care program.
• Assists with implementation of restorative interventions (ambulation, ROM, ADLs, feeding devices, splints, hand cones).
• Participates in care plan conferences as directed.
• Completes restorative documentation related to resident participation and progress.
• Ensures assistive devices are available and utilized for assigned residents.
• Trains and monitors staff on patient/resident assistive devices and transfer equipment.
• Supports staff education and competencies related to restorative care.
• Reports observations to appropriate staff.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Restorative Nurse, ADON or DON.
