Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience in crisis intervention, restorative practices, and de-escalation techniques.
• Strong understanding of trauma-informed practices and positive behavior interventions.
• Training in CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) or similar, or willingness to obtain training.

Responsibilities

• Assist in fostering a positive school culture.
• Support Restorative Justice practices and conflict resolution strategies.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with students, staff and families.
• Provide direct assistance to students with routines and expectations.
• Implement behavior support plans and coping strategies.
• Engage families in restorative processes.
• Assist teachers with self-regulation and behavior interventions.
• Supervise common areas and ensure safety.
• Use de-escalation and mediation techniques to address concerns.
• Assist with mediations and restorative conferences.
• Support intake assessments and follow-up on agreements.
• Assist students during crises with trauma-informed strategies.
• Facilitate transitions to disciplinary placements.
• Participate in professional development to enhance intervention strategies.
