Job summary

Charter Schools USA invites applications for a Behavior Technician to support students with behavioral plans in school settings. You will assist in implementing behavior modifications, observe and collect data, and collaborate with district analysts and teachers to ensure student success.

The role requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) and willingness to participate in district training within 90 days. Training includes CPI/PCM and data-driven planning in a dynamic school environment.

Qualifications

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and either an AA/AS, 60 college credits, or a passing score on a district-approved test.
  • Related experience in behavior modification or intervention preferred.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Willingness to participate in district behavioral training within 90 days of employment.
  • Ability to perform the functions of the position.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and apply basic principles of Applied Behavior Analysis in classroom settings as directed by the District Behavior Analysts.
  • Conduct classroom observations using behavioral measurements needed for Functional Behavior Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans.
  • Collect and submit data needed for Functional Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans to the assigned District Behavior Analyst.
  • Implement Behavior Plans and instructional strategies as directed by the classroom teacher or District Behavior Analyst.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with associates/students within the school.
  • Maintain mandatory certification in district approved intervention of crisis prevention (CPI/PCM or other district approved programs).
  • Perform and document district approved physical management or restraint procedures (emergency and programmatic).
  • Continue skill development through mastery of behavior technician basic competencies and through district approved professional development workshops and courses.
  • Attend a minimum of 8 hours of behavior technician training each school year.
  • Assist in the implementation of school-wide positive behavior supports and classroom/individual management processes.
  • Assist in the utilization of approved social skills programs for students, school-wide, in the classroom or individually.
  • Perform assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner with a high standard of quality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of ESE or District Level Behavior Analyst.
