Job summary

Journey is seeking a compassionate Restorative Aide to work closely with nursing and therapy staff to implement restorative programs that promote resident independence and quality of life.

This role supports residents through range of motion activities, mobility assistance, feeding support, and daily living tasks, in a team-driven environment focused on compassionate care. Our team emphasizes strong local leadership and engagement with residents and families.

Qualifications

• Experience with restorative nursing tasks and following care plans.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration with care staff.
• Capacity to make independent decisions when appropriate.
• Tactful communication with residents, families, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Receives restorative nursing assignments from Restorative Nurse or designee and performs them.
• Performs restorative services per care plans and facility policies (ROM, mobility, transfers, dressing, feeding, etc.).
• Conducts activities solo or in small group classes.
• Coordinates dining room services at mealtimes, including setup, delivery, and documentation.
• Delivers supplements and monitors intake, documents intake.
• Assists with weighing residents and reports weight changes to nurse/supervisor.
• Demonstrates ability to read/write/speak/understand English.
• Maintains teamwork and supports colleagues.
• Makes independent decisions when warranted.
• Interacts tactfully with residents, families, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Receives specific restorative nursing assignments from Restorative Nurse, or designee, or a discharging therapist. Performs duties as assigned.
• Performs restorative nursing services in accordance with care plans and facility policies and procedures. These services may include activities related to range of motion, splint/brace assistance, bed mobility, transfers/walking, dressing/grooming, eating/swallowing, amputation/ prosthesis care, and communication.
• Performs tasks to individual residents or as part of small group classes.
• Coordinates dining room services at assigned mealtimes, including set-up and clean-up, meal tray delivery, feeding assistance, and documentation of meal intake.
• Delivers nutritional supplements to residents at assigned times and provides assistance as necessary to ensure intake. Documents intake accordingly.
• Assists with weighing residents according to facility policy, and records weight in designated locations. Reports weight changes to nurse and supervisor.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
• Must be a supportive team member, contribute to and be an example of team work.
• Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
• Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
• Must have patience, tact, and willingness to deal with difficult residents, family and staff.
