Job summary

Journey in the United States seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our healthcare team in delivering high-quality patient care. The RN will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care while directing daily activities of LPNs/CNAs in accordance with regulations and facility policies.

Qualifications

• Experience in long-term care preferred but not required.
• A Nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
• Current unrestricted RN license in practicing state.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Directs the daily activities of licensed practical/vocational nurses and CNAs per regulations and facility policies.
• Follows the nursing model to promote holistic care for residents.
• Ensures policies and procedures are followed by nursing staff.
• Participates in resident admissions, discharges and transfers.
• Assesses changes in residents’ status and notifies physician and family, documenting appropriately.
• Transcribes physician orders to medical records and carries out the orders.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Directs the daily activities of the licensed practical/vocational nurse and certified nursing assistants in accordance with current federal, state and local regulations and guidelines and established facility policies and procedures.
• Follows the nursing model to promote holistic care for the residents.
• Ensures that policies and procedures are complied with by nursing personnel assigned.
• Participates in the admission, discharge and transfers of residents as required.
• Assesses for changes in residents’ status, notifying the physician and resident’s family or representative and documenting accordingly.
• Transcribes physician orders to medical record and carries out orders as written.

Required Qualifications

• Current unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in practicing state.
