Job summary

ServiceMaster CDR is seeking an experienced Fire & Contents Restoration Technician to join our elite team in Ohio. This full-time role involves hands-on restoration work, documentation, and coordination with homeowners, managers, and insurers to restore both property and lives.

You will operate restoration tools, maintain safety standards, and participate in on-call rotations. Certifications such as IICRC FSRT/OCT are a plus and dependability is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Experience in fire or smoke damage restoration (residential or commercial).
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Willingness to obtain IICRC FSRT and OCT certifications if not already held.

Responsibilities

• Perform all aspects of fire and smoke damage restoration including demolition, cleaning, contents handling and debris removal.
• Safely pack, move, clean, and restore fire-damaged personal belongings and commercial contents.
• Operate restoration tools and equipment with proper care and safety.
• Document job progress, inventory and customer interactions using restoration software (Contents Track, iCAT, Restore 365).
• Coordinate with homeowners, property managers, insurance adjusters and project leads for quality service delivery.
• Maintain a clean, safe worksite and keep vehicles and equipment organized.
• Participate in on-call rotations and respond to emergencies as needed.

What You’ll Do:

• Perform all aspects of fire and smoke damage restoration, including demolition, structural cleaning, contents cleaning, equipment setup, pack‑outs, and debris removal
• Safely pack, move, clean, and restore fire‑damaged personal belongings and commercial contents
• Operate a variety of restoration tools and equipment, ensuring proper use and care
• Accurately document job progress, inventory, and customer interactions using restoration software (e.g., Contents Track, iCAT, Restore 365)
• Work directly with homeowners, property managers, insurance adjusters, and project leads to ensure smooth, high‑quality service delivery
• Follow safety procedures, maintain a clean and professional worksite, and keep company vehicles and equipment ready and organized
• Participate in on‑call rotations and respond to emergency situations as needed

What You Bring:

• Some hands‑on experience in fire or smoke damage restoration (residential or commercial)
• Strong work ethic, dependability, and a positive, can‑do attitude
• Solid customer service and communication skills
• Ability to lift 50 lbs, work in confined or challenging spaces, and wear PPE (including respirators) when required
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Tech‑savvy and able to learn or use mobile devices and job‑tracking software
• IICRC FSRT & OCT certifications are a plus (or willingness to obtain)
