Job summary

ServiceMaster CDR in Ohio is seeking an experienced Fire & Contents Restoration Technician to join a leading franchise. You will perform demolition, contents cleaning, and equipment setup to restore homes and businesses after fire and smoke damage, while documenting progress and coordinating with homeowners and insurers.

Ideal candidates have hands-on restoration experience, strong customer service, and the ability to use our restoration software tools.

Qualifications

• Experience in fire or smoke restoration preferred.
• Customer-service oriented and reliable.
• Able to learn restoration software and mobile tools.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.

Responsibilities

• Perform all aspects of fire and smoke damage restoration, including demolition and debris removal.
• Safely pack, move, clean, and restore fire-damaged personal belongings and contents.
• Operate restoration tools and equipment with care and safety.
• Document progress, inventory, and customer interactions using restoration software.
• Collaborate with homeowners, managers, adjusters, and leads to ensure quality service.
• Maintain a clean, organized site and follow safety procedures; participate in on-call rotations.

You’ll play a crucial role in helping families and businesses recover after fire and smoke damage, restoring not just property— but lives.

What You’ll Do:

• Perform all aspects of fire and smoke damage restoration, including demolition, structural cleaning, contents cleaning, equipment setup, pack-outs, and debris removal
• Safely pack, move, clean, and restore fire‑damaged personal belongings and commercial contents
• Operate a variety of restoration tools and equipment, ensuring proper use and care
• Accurately document job progress, inventory, and customer interactions using restoration software (e.g., Contents Track, iCAT, Restore 365)
• Work directly with homeowners, property managers, insurance adjusters, and project leads to ensure smooth, high‑quality service delivery
• Follow safety procedures, maintain a clean and professional worksite, and keep company vehicles and equipment ready and organized
• Participate in on‑call rotations and respond to emergency situations as needed

What You Bring:

• Some hands‑on experience in fire or smoke damage restoration (residential or commercial)
• Strong work ethic, dependability, and a positive, can‑do attitude
• Solid customer service and communication skills
• Ability to lift 50 lbs, work in confined or challenging spaces, and wear PPE (including respirators) when required
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Tech‑savvy and able to learn or use mobile devices and job‑tracking software
• IICRC FSRT & OCT certifications are a plus (or willingness to obtain)
