Job summary

SERVPRO of Dunedin / Palm Harbor South is seeking a hands-on restoration assistant to join our team in the New York area. The role focuses on responding to emergencies, performing water and fire damage cleanup, and supporting storm restoration efforts.

Ideal candidates are team players who enjoy helping others, can lift heavy items, and are willing to learn. We provide training, uniforms, and opportunities for growth, with on-site work and varying shifts.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Willingness to work on-call shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Experience in restoration, construction, or related field preferred.
• IICRC certification is a plus.
• Ability to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to emergency situations (water and fire damages).
• Evaluate and perform restoration activities (water extraction, drying, debris removal).
• Load and inventory vehicles with tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Communicate safety hazards and job-site findings to supervisors.
• Maintain open communication with clients and explain the restoration process.
• Perform restoration and cleanup tasks including water extraction and site cleanup.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to emergency situations, including water damage, fire damage.
• Evaluate and perform restoration activities including but not limited to, water extraction, fire damages, set-up of specialty equipment, and demolition.
• Load, inventory, and maintain work vehicles with tools, equipment, and all necessary supplies for each project.
• Effectively communicate safety hazards, job site findings, equipment, and tool requirements for the worksite with supervisors.
• Maintain open and clear communication with clients, addressing their concerns and explaining the restoration process.
• Perform restoration and cleanup tasks, including water extraction, drying and site clean-up

Position Requirements

• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
• Willingness to work occasional on-call shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Previous experience in restoration, construction, or a related field is preferred.
• IICRC certification is a plus.
• Be able to pass background check

Skills/Physical Demands/Competencies

• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds regularly, occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance.
• Ability to climb ladders, work at ceiling heights, work in tight spaces (e.g., crawl spaces, attics)
• Ability to repetitively push/pull/lift/carry objects.
• Ability to work with/around cleaning agents.
