Job summary

Servpro Industries, Inc. in Town of Florida, NY seeks a hands-on restoration/handyman technician to respond to emergencies and perform water and fire restoration tasks.

Teamwork, physical fitness, and a willingness to learn are valued. A valid driver’s license and ability to pass a background check are required. On-call shifts evenings and weekends may apply.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Willingness to work occasional on-call shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Previous experience in restoration, construction, or related field preferred.
• IICRC certification is a plus.
• Be able to pass background check

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to emergency situations, including water and fire damage.
• Evaluate and perform restoration activities: water extraction, fire damage restoration, equipment setup, demolition.
• Load, inventory, and maintain work vehicles with tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Communicate safety hazards, site findings, equipment and tool requirements to supervisors.
• Maintain open communication with clients, address concerns, explain the restoration process.
• Perform restoration and cleanup tasks: water extraction, drying, site cleanup

Key Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to emergency situations, including water damage, fire damage.
• Evaluate and perform restoration activities including but not limited to, water extraction, fire damages, set-up of specialty equipment, and demolition.
• Load, inventory, and maintain work vehicles with tools, equipment, and all necessary supplies for each project.
• Effectively communicate safety hazards, job site findings, equipment, and tool requirements for the worksite with supervisors.
• Maintain open and clear communication with clients, addressing their concerns and explaining the restoration process.
• Perform restoration and cleanup tasks, including water extraction, drying and site clean-up

Position Requirements

Skills/Physical Demands/Competencies

• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds regularly, occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance.
• Ability to climb ladders, work at ceiling heights, work in tight spaces (e.g., crawl spaces, attics)
• Ability to repetitively push/pull/lift/carry objects.
• Ability to work with/around cleaning agents.
