Job summary

SERVPRO Franchise is seeking a handyman/restoration assistant. You will respond promptly to emergencies such as water and fire damage, perform restoration tasks, load and manage tools, and ensure safety on site while communicating with supervisors and clients.

Ideal candidates have a valid driver’s license, are willing to work on-call shifts, and prefer teamwork. Prior restoration or construction experience is a plus; IICRC certification is a bonus. Training and uniforms are provided.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license.
• Willingness to work on-call shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Previous experience in restoration, construction, or a related field is preferred.
• IICRC certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to emergency situations, including water damage, fire damage.
• Evaluate and perform restoration activities including water extraction, fire damages, equipment setup, and demolition.
• Load, inventory, and maintain work vehicles with tools, equipment, and supplies for each project.
• Communicate safety hazards, job site findings, equipment requirements to the worksite supervisors.
• Maintain open communication with clients, addressing concerns and explaining the restoration process.
• Perform restoration and cleanup tasks, including water extraction, drying and site cleanup.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to emergency situations, including water damage, fire damage.

• Load, inventory, and maintain work vehicles with tools, equipment, and all necessary supplies for each project.
• Effectively communicate safety hazards, job site findings, equipment, and tool requirements for the worksite with supervisors.
• Maintain open and clear communication with clients, addressing their concerns and explaining the restoration process.
• Perform restoration and cleanup tasks, including water extraction, drying and site clean-up

Position Requirements

• Previous experience in restoration, construction, or a related field is preferred.
• IICRC certification is a plus.

Skills/Physical Demands/Competencies

• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds regularly, occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance.
• Ability to climb ladders, work at ceiling heights, work in tight spaces (e.g., crawl spaces, attics)
• Ability to repetitively push/pull/lift/carry objects.
• Ability to work with/around cleaning agents.
