Job summary

Servpro Industries, Inc. in Mason City, IA is seeking a dedicated restoration technician to respond to emergency situations such as water and fire damage. You will evaluate and perform restoration activities and effectively communicate with clients about their concerns.

The ideal candidate will possess a valid driver’s license and have handyman or construction experience. As a part of your job, you will execute cleanup tasks and maintain open communication with supervisors and clients to ensure a smooth restoration process.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Willingness to work rotating on-call shifts including evenings and weekends.
• Previous experience in restoration or construction is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency situations including water and fire damages.
• Evaluate and perform restoration activities.
• Load and maintain work vehicles with necessary tools and supplies.
• Communicate safety hazards and findings to supervisors.
• Maintain communication with clients regarding restoration progress.
• Perform cleanup tasks, including drying and site clean-up.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to emergency situations, including water damage, fire damage.
• Evaluate and perform restoration activities including but not limited to, water extraction, fire damages, set-up of specialty equipment, and demolition.
• Load, inventory, and maintain work vehicles with tools, equipment, and all necessary supplies for each project.
• Effectively communicate safety hazards, job site findings, equipment, and tool requirements for the worksite with supervisors.
• Maintain open and clear communication with clients, addressing their concerns and explaining the restoration process.
• Perform restoration and cleanup tasks, including water extraction, drying and site clean-up

Position Requirements

• Valid driver’s license
• Willingness to work rotating on-call shifts usually 1 week a month, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Previous experience in restoration, construction, or a related field is preferred.
• IICRC certification is a plus.

Skills/Physical Demands/Competencies

• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds regularly, occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance.
• Ability to climb ladders, work at ceiling heights, work in tight spaces (e.g., crawl spaces, attics)
• Ability to repetitively push/pull/lift/carry objects.
• Ability to work with/around cleaning agents.
