Job summary

SERVPRO of Allegan/Barry County is seeking a hands-on, team-oriented individual to join our restoration team in Michigan. You will respond to emergencies, help restore properties after water or fire damage, and support crews with equipment and supplies.

The role emphasizes learning new skills, working outdoors, and delivering dependable service to clients in their time of need. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Previous restoration/construction experience preferred.
• IICRC certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to emergency situations (water/fires).
• Evaluate and perform restoration tasks, including water extraction and demolition.
• Load and maintain vehicles with tools and supplies for each project.
• Communicate safety hazards and job-site requirements to supervisors.
• Maintain open communication with clients and explain restoration process.
• Perform restoration and cleanup tasks (water extraction, drying, site cleanup).

Key Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to emergency situations, including water damage, fire damage.
• Evaluate and perform restoration activities including but not limited to, water extraction, fire damages, set-up of specialty equipment, and demolition.
• Load, inventory, and maintain work vehicles with tools, equipment, and all necessary supplies for each project.
• Effectively communicate safety hazards, job site findings, equipment, and tool requirements for the worksite with supervisors.
• Maintain open and clear communication with clients, addressing their concerns and explaining the restoration process.
• Perform restoration and cleanup tasks, including water extraction, drying and site clean-up

Position Requirements

• Valid driver’s license
• Willingness to work occasional on-call shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Previous experience in restoration, construction, or a related field is preferred.
• IICRC certification is a plus.

Skills/Physical Demands/Competencies

• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds regularly, occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance.
• Ability to climb ladders, work at ceiling heights, work in tight spaces (e.g., crawl spaces, attics)
• Ability to repetitively push/pull/lift/carry objects.
• Ability to work with/around cleaning agents.
