Job summary

ServiceMaster of South Shore Inc is seeking a Restoration Crew Chief/Restoration Supervisor in Springfield, IL. This role involves overseeing fire and water cleanup for residential and commercial properties, including various restoration services with a focus on quality and timeliness.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the restoration field and strong communication skills. A valid driver's license and the ability to lift over 50 lbs are necessary. A competitive salary of $21 to $22 per hour is offered, with potential commission bonuses.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Crew Chief in a fire and flood restoration company is preferred but training is available.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.
• Must be able to travel out of town.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely and quality completion of restoration projects.
• Supervise Restoration Techs and staff laborers.
• Maintain documentation and customer communication.
• Train Restoration Techs to improve their skills.

Position Overview

Restoration Crew Chief/Restoration Supervisor – responsible for residential and commercial fire and water cleanup and restoration. The role includes specialty mitigation services, light demolition, water extraction, carpet and upholstery cleaning, mold abatement, vandalism cleanup, fire and smoke damage mitigation, content move‑outs and pack‑ins, and content cleaning.

Salary: $21–$22 per hour, negotiated based on experience. Location: Springfield, IL.

Responsibilities

• Ensures the timely and quality completion of assigned restoration cleaning, moving, packing, or general labor projects.
• Directs, aids and supervises the Restoration Techs and staff laborers assigned to the project.
• Evaluates competence and quality of the Restoration Techs and staff laborers.
• Ensures a continuous increase in their knowledge and skill level (training).
• Ensures security, integrity, and cleanliness of all company equipment and supplies used on projects.
• Ensures productivity of the Restoration Techs and staff laborers.
• Ensures all required restoration project documentation, including forms and photo‑documentation, is completed per protocols.
• Maintains excellent customer communication and relations.
• Performs other duties as required.

Requirements

• Experience in restoration or carpet and upholstery cleaning.
• Previous experience as a Crew Chief in a fire and flood restoration company is highly desired, but willing to train the right candidate.
• Strong communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to travel out of town.
• Can move and/or lift 50+ lbs.
• Pass background check and drug screen.
• Water Restoration Tech Certification (WRT).
