Restoration Superintendent
Build Back Better. Lead with Purpose. Restore with Precision.
Position Type: Full-Time
Department: Restoration / Construction Operations
Reports To: Project Manager / Operations Manager
Position Overview
We are looking for a Restoration Superintendent who can take ownership of the jobsite from the moment the first crew arrives until the final detail is complete. This is more than a scheduling and supervision role. You will be the field leader responsible for turning restoration plans into finished work—coordinating people, materials, subcontractors, safety, quality, and production while keeping projects moving in challenging and often time-sensitive environments. Our ideal Superintendent is calm under pressure, highly organized, technically capable, and knows how to lead people without losing sight of the customer, the project schedule, or the quality of the finished product. When a property has been damaged by water, fire, smoke, mold, storm events, or other loss, you will help turn a difficult situation into a successful restoration.
What You'll Own
- Lead day-to-day field operations on residential restoration projects.
- Establish and maintain production schedules while adjusting quickly to changing site conditions.
- Direct restoration subcontractors and specialty trades.
- Conduct daily jobsite walkthroughs to verify safety, workmanship, cleanliness, and production progress.
- Interpret scopes of work, drawings, specifications, estimates, and project documentation.
- Coordinate demolition, reconstruction, cleaning, and specialty restoration activities as applicable.
- Ensure work is performed according to company standards, project specifications, applicable codes, and industry best practices.
- Identify potential issues before they become costly delays—and communicate solutions quickly.
- Track labor, materials, equipment, and production against project expectations.
- Coordinate material deliveries and ensure crews have what they need to stay productive.
- Maintain accurate daily logs, photographs, production records, and project documentation.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Estimators, Adjusters, Property Managers, Customers, and subcontractors.
- Participate in quality-control inspections and final project walkthroughs.
- Maintain a professional and organized jobsite that reflects the company's standards.
- Promote a culture where safety is non-negotiable and accountability is expected.
- Respond to emergency and after-hours restoration needs when required.
What Makes You Successful
You don't have to know everything on day one. We are looking for someone who takes ownership, solves problems, and gets things done. You will thrive in this position if you:
- Lead from the front rather than from behind a desk.
- Can manage multiple priorities without becoming overwhelmed.
- Communicate clearly with both field crews and office leadership.
- Know how to hold people accountable while maintaining a strong team environment.
- Understand construction sequencing and recognize when something doesn't look right.
- Can read a project scope and translate it into an actionable field plan.
- Stay composed when the schedule changes, materials are delayed, or unexpected damage is discovered.
- Take pride in craftsmanship and pay attention to the details others overlook.
- Understand that restoration customers are often dealing with stressful circumstances and deserve professionalism and respect.
- Are willing to make decisions, own the outcome, and learn from mistakes.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of construction, restoration, mitigation, or related field-supervision experience.
- Previous experience leading construction or restoration crews.
- Working knowledge of water, fire, smoke, mold, storm, and/or reconstruction processes.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and jobsite safety.
- Experience coordinating subcontractors and vendors.
- Ability to read scopes, plans, specifications, and estimates.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work in changing environments and respond to project emergencies when needed.
- Restoration certifications such as IICRC credentials are a plus.
- OSHA or other relevant safety training is a plus.
The Restoration Superintendent Mindset
A great Superintendent doesn't simply ask, "What needs to be done?" They ask: "What could stop us, what do we need next, and how do I keep this project moving?" You will be expected to anticipate problems, communicate early, protect the company's standards, and create an environment where crews can do their best work.
What We Offer
- Competitive compensation based on experience.
- Opportunities for advancement within a growing restoration operation.
- Company-provided tools, equipment, and resources as applicable.
- Training and professional-development opportunities.
- A leadership role with meaningful responsibility and autonomy.
- A team-oriented work environment.
- The opportunity to make a measurable difference for customers during some of their most difficult days.
Physical & Work Environment
- Walking and standing for extended periods.
- Working in damaged or partially damaged structures.
- Exposure to dust, debris, moisture, odors, varying temperatures, and construction environments.
- Wearing required personal protective equipment.
- Lifting, carrying, climbing, bending, and navigating active jobsites.
- Working extended hours or responding to emergency situations when project conditions require it.
Our Standard
We don't measure a Superintendent only by whether a project gets finished. We measure success by how it gets finished: Safely. Efficiently. Professionally. On schedule. With quality that lasts. If you're the kind of leader who can walk onto a chaotic jobsite, create order, build trust with a crew, solve problems before they become emergencies, and leave the property better than you found it—we want to hear from you.
