Job summary

Montana Department of Corrections seeks a Collections Technician to ensure accurate collection and distribution of felony offender restitution for the State of Montana. The role interfaces with courts, probation/parole, officials, and victims to maintain an efficient, compliant process.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• One year of job-related experience or education in accounting, financial transactions, or bookkeeping.
• Alternative combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Responsibilities

• Ensure restitution funds are accurately collected and distributed for the State of Montana.
• Serve as liaison to courts, probation and parole officers, officials, and victims.
• Interpret court orders and provide account status updates to partners and staff.
• Manage accounts payable/receivable, deposits, and reconciliation within restitution system.
