Job summary

Newk's Eatery in Mississippi is seeking a Shift Leader to guide daily operations, motivate team members, and deliver a memorable guest experience with fast, friendly service.

You will oversee front- and back-of-house tasks, monitor quality and safety, coordinate shift tasks, assist with cash handling, and support recruiting and training while maintaining a respectful, professional work environment. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends is required.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in a restaurant or customer-focused environment (preferred).
• Strong communication skills and the ability to coach others in the moment.
• Commitment to safety, sanitation, and quality standards.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities during busy periods.
• A professional, guest-first attitude and a team-centered mindset.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate team members to deliver the Newk's Experience, with a focus on guest satisfaction
• Support front- and/or back-of-house operations to ensure standards, policies, and procedures are followed
• Monitor food quality, cleanliness, and safety practices throughout the shift
• Coordinate shift tasks, prioritize needs as they arise, and ensure products are prepared and served correctly
• Assist with cash handling and operational accuracy as needed
• Maintain a respectful, positive, and professional work environment
• Support recruiting, training, and coaching efforts to help team members succeed
• Communicate clearly with management and other team leads to drive consistency
