Job summary

McAlister’s Deli in Brandon, MS is seeking a Restaurant Shift Leader to oversee daily operations and guest experience on assigned shifts. Reports to General Manager/Assistant Manager and supports both FOH and BOH teams to maintain McAlister’s standards.

The role requires a high school diploma, at least 1 year in food service, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and teamwork are essential. This is a non-exempt, on-site position with flexible hours.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year experience within the food service industry; supervisory experience a plus but not required.
• Worked in a fast paced environment.
• Retail experience

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision during assigned shifts.
• Provide team members and guests with a positive experience and atmosphere.
• Manage both FOH and BOH shift responsibilities to include scheduling of staff to minimize overtime and achieve daily labor controls and cost as assigned by management.
• Monitor speed of service to ensure a positive guest experience.
• Handle guest comments and complaints.
• Supervise daily shifts to ensure McAlister’s standards, product quality and cleanliness is maintained.
• Assist in ongoing training of team members and new hires; perform line checks as necessary.
• Enforce uniform policy and standards.
• Ensure proper cash handling procedures are followed.
• Open and close restaurant in absence of upper management.
