Summary of Position

A shift leader supports management in achieving restaurant goals by implementing and enforcing company policies, procedures, and performance standards. This hands-on leadership role focuses on delivering:

Reporting Relationships

Reports directly to the General Manager or Manager on duty. Maintains internal contacts with store personnel and home office departments, and external contacts with guests and distributors.

Position Activities and Tasks

• Ensure all menu items are prepared, portioned, and presented properly in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner, following all procedures and regulations.
• Perform or assist with all restaurant functions as needed.
• Prepare each shift through planning, inspection, and anticipation of challenges.
• Lead the shift by maintaining standards, keeping the team positive and organized, and correcting issues promptly.
• Evaluate shift results, communicate with management, and ensure readiness for the next shift.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• Stand and walk extensively for up to 8 hours.
• Must see clearly at various distances and communicate effectively.
• Work in heat, steam, smoke, cold, and reach heights up to 6 feet.
• Lift and carry weights up to 50 pounds, and perform bending, reaching, and walking tasks.
• Work irregular hours under pressure during busy times.

Supervision and Education

Receives training from the Regional Manager. Requires a high school diploma, with some college preferred. At least 1 year of food service experience is preferred.
