Summary of Position

A shift leader supports management in achieving restaurant goals by implementing, managing, and enforcing company policies, procedures, programs, and performance standards. You will take a hands-on leadership role to ensure:

Reporting Relationships

Reports to: General Manager or Manager on Duty

Internal Contacts: All levels of store personnel and home office departments

External Contacts: Guests, Distributors

Position Activities and Tasks

• Ensure all menu items are prepared, portioned, and presented properly in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner according to established standards and health regulations.
• Perform or assist with all functions for all restaurant positions as needed.
• Prepare each shift for success through planning, inspection, and anticipating challenges.
• Lead the shift by maintaining standards, keeping the team organized and positive, and correcting issues promptly.
• Review shift results, ensure readiness for the next shift, and communicate with management about performance and issues.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• Stand and walk extensively for up to 8 hours.
• Good vision and communication skills.
• Exposure to heat, steam, smoke, cold.
• Reach heights of approximately 6 feet and depths of 2.5-3 feet.
• Mobility and flexibility required.
• Ability to read, write, perform calculations, and operate equipment.
• Work irregular hours during busy times.
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Additional Requirements

High school diploma required; some college preferred. One year of food service experience is preferred.
