Job summary

Neiman Marcus is seeking a Restaurant Server Assistant to uphold the high dining standards in our luxury environment. You will assist with table maintenance, beverage service, and guest support across busy dining rooms.

Responsibilities include delivering courses, maintaining stations, and collaborating with kitchen and service staff to ensure exceptional guest experiences while adhering to hygiene guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in serving food and beverage and following proper table service guidelines.
• Ability to work autonomously.
• Motivated and results-driven.
• Knowledge of proper placement of china, glass, and flatware for table settings.
• Thorough knowledge of order of service and proper placement of table settings and food/beverage.
• Ability to interact graciously with the public and handle multiple duties at the same time.

Responsibilities

• Focuses on table maintenance in the dining room, including clearing and re-setting tables.
• Delivers popovers, butter, and pours water.
• Delivers food and beverage to guests as indicated by kitchen tickets.
• Maintains the bus station and beverage areas.
• Learns table numbers and sections in the dining area.
• Assists kitchen staff and service staff with any service needs.
• Assists waitstaff with any service needs, refilling beverages and running food.
• Sets up the dining room with key items, including coffee, iced tea, and ice.
• Maintains dining room by restocking glasses, flatware, and linens.
• Participates in daily pre-shift meeting.
• Executes pre-shift, post-shift, and daily and weekly duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Lifts and moves objects (e.g., tables, chairs, highchairs, etc.).
• Cleans and maintains restaurant and workstation.
• Maintains hygiene: clean uniform, hair, nails to avoid contamination.

YOU WILL BE

The Restaurant Server Assistant maintains setup in the dining rooms to see to it that guests have the level of food and beverage service consistent to the high standards set by Neiman Marcus.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Focuses on table maintenance in the dining room, including clearing and re-setting tables
• Delivers popovers, butter, and pours water
• Delivers food and beverage to guests as indicated by kitchen tickets
• Maintains the bus station and beverage areas
• Learns table numbers and sections in the dining area
• Assists kitchen staff and service staff with any service needs (e.g., additional customer requests, restocking plates, bagging “to go” orders, setting up expediter station)
• Assists waitstaff with any service needs, refilling beverages and running food from the kitchen to the dining room as needed
• Sets up the dining room with key items, including but not limited to coffee, iced tea, and ice
• Maintains dining room by restocking glasses, flatware, and linens
• Participates in daily pre-shift meeting
• Executes pre-shift, post-shift, and daily and weekly duties as assigned by supervisor
• Lifts and moves objects (e.g., tables, chairs, highchairs, etc.)
• Cleans and maintains restaurant and workstation
• Maintains the highest level of hygiene standards to include, but not limited to:
  • Clean, pressed uniform jacket and accompanying clothing and shoes
  • Clean and professionally styled hair and nails, maintained to avoid food contamination risks
• Reports to work area dressed appropriately and prepared to work with any necessary supplies / equipment to perform job duties

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

• High School diploma or GED preferred
• Experience in serving food and beverage and following proper table service guidelines

• Exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills

• Role requires standing, bending, climbing stairs, and lifting and carrying 35 pounds
• Associates must be willing to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, which will include evenings, weekends, and holidays

Salary Range

$2.13 - $9.06* Compensation for this role varies by geographic location. The listed range reflects multiple markets, including higher-cost areas. Actual starting pay will be determined based on work location, experience, and other job-related factors.
