Job summary

Valor Hospitality is seeking a Restaurant Server for our Birmingham area property. You’ll greet guests, take orders, serve meals and beverages, and ensure a positive dining experience while upholding standards.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• Three to six months in a food/beverage services environment.
• Must have vision ability to clearly see detailed guest checks, computer printouts, etc.
• Must have manual coordination to punch buttons, grasp items and carry trays.
• Able to read, speak and understand English.
• Able to lift, push, carry 20–40 lbs.
• Stand continuously for long periods of time.

Responsibilities

• Greet and take food and drink orders from restaurant customers, serve the orders and accommodate special needs/requests.
• Remain attentive to customers throughout the dining experience and uphold service standards.
• Restock and clean as opening/closing side-work as instructed.
• Memorize menu items and specials to answer questions and make recommendations.
• Maintain cleanliness of restaurant, wait-station, and kitchen service areas.
• Present a clean and professional appearance at all times.
• Attend pre-meal and departmental meetings to enhance knowledge.
• Respond to customer inquiries in person and by phone with timely information.
