Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Server Assistant in a fine dining restaurant to support servers and ensure smooth operations. The role involves providing exceptional food and beverage service to guests, guiding them through the menu, taking orders, serving dishes, and attending to their needs to ensure a memorable dining experience. Candidates should have strong menu knowledge, wine pairings, and fine dining etiquette, along with professional customer service skills.

Core Job Responsibilities & Duties

• Greet guests warmly and professionally, creating a welcoming atmosphere
• Develop a thorough understanding of the menu, including ingredients, preparation, and flavor profiles
• Guide guests through the menu, providing detailed descriptions and answering questions
• Make recommendations and suggest wine pairings to enhance the guest experience
• Stay informed about specials, promotions, and menu changes; promote and upsell menu items and beverages
• Handle guest inquiries, concerns, or complaints promptly and professionally
• Take accurate food and beverage orders, ensuring clarity and attention to detail
• Enter orders accurately and promptly into the POS system
• Communicate special requests or dietary restrictions to the kitchen carefully
• Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff for timely order preparation and delivery
• Verify orders for accuracy and presentation before serving
• Serve dishes following fine dining service techniques and etiquette
• Present dishes elegantly, describing them to guests upon serving
• Provide attentive, personalized service, anticipating guest needs
• Monitor guest satisfaction, check on them regularly, and refill drinks as needed
• Clear and reset tables promptly, maintaining cleanliness and organization
• Follow food safety and sanitation standards to ensure hygiene
