Job Description

Summary: We are seeking a motivated and dynamic Assistant Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the daily operations of our business, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction while driving sales and maintaining efficient inventory control. This position requires strong leadership skills, organizational abilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional service.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in managing daily operations to ensure smooth functioning of the cafe.
  2. Possess an understanding of all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines and training programs.
  3. Supervise and lead team members, fostering a positive work environment.
  4. Fully understand and comply with all federal, state, county, and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety, and labor requirements of the café, employees, and customers.
  5. Serve customers as a café sales associate.
  6. Demonstrate enthusiasm when speaking with and educating customers about our products.
  7. Ensure that all customers feel welcome and are given prompt, responsive, courteous, quality service at all times.
  8. Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues promptly.
  9. Train and mentor new employees on company policies and procedures.
  10. Ensure that staff members have in-depth knowledge of all products.
  11. Schedule labor as required by anticipated business activity while ensuring that all positions are staffed when and as needed to meet labor cost objectives.
  12. Assist in achieving company objectives in sales, service, quality, appearance of facility, sanitation, and cleanliness through training of employees and maintaining a positive, productive working environment.
  13. Fill in as needed to ensure customer service standards and efficient operations.
  14. Oversee inventory control, including stock management and replenishment.
  15. Handle POS operations, ensuring accurate transactions and cash handling.
  16. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café.
  17. Inspect equipment to ensure standards of cleanliness and excellent working condition.
  18. Be willing to jump in and do any job that must be done to keep the café running smoothly.

Requirements:

  1. Previous experience in café/food service management or as an assistant manager.
  2. Team player.
  3. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
  4. Proficiency in inventory control processes and stock management.
  5. Experience with POS operations and financial transactions.
  6. Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  7. Strong communication skills.
  8. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
  9. ServSafe Certification or willingness to immediately obtain.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 per week

Shift:

  1. Morning shift
  2. Day shift
  3. Evening shift
  4. Weekends

Education: High school diploma or equivalent (Preferred)
