Job Description
Summary: We are seeking a motivated and dynamic Assistant Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the daily operations of our business, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction while driving sales and maintaining efficient inventory control. This position requires strong leadership skills, organizational abilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional service.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing daily operations to ensure smooth functioning of the cafe.
- Possess an understanding of all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines and training programs.
- Supervise and lead team members, fostering a positive work environment.
- Fully understand and comply with all federal, state, county, and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety, and labor requirements of the café, employees, and customers.
- Serve customers as a café sales associate.
- Demonstrate enthusiasm when speaking with and educating customers about our products.
- Ensure that all customers feel welcome and are given prompt, responsive, courteous, quality service at all times.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues promptly.
- Train and mentor new employees on company policies and procedures.
- Ensure that staff members have in-depth knowledge of all products.
- Schedule labor as required by anticipated business activity while ensuring that all positions are staffed when and as needed to meet labor cost objectives.
- Assist in achieving company objectives in sales, service, quality, appearance of facility, sanitation, and cleanliness through training of employees and maintaining a positive, productive working environment.
- Fill in as needed to ensure customer service standards and efficient operations.
- Oversee inventory control, including stock management and replenishment.
- Handle POS operations, ensuring accurate transactions and cash handling.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café.
- Inspect equipment to ensure standards of cleanliness and excellent working condition.
- Be willing to jump in and do any job that must be done to keep the café running smoothly.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in café/food service management or as an assistant manager.
- Team player.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
- Proficiency in inventory control processes and stock management.
- Experience with POS operations and financial transactions.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
- ServSafe Certification or willingness to immediately obtain.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 per week
