Job summary

DKN Hotels in California is seeking a friendly dining room associate to greet guests, assist with meal setup, and upsell recommendations while ensuring a positive guest experience from check-in to check-out.

You will professionally serve food and beverages, maintain cleanliness per health codes, complete side work, and support teammates to deliver the 'Home Away From Home' dining experience for every guest.

Qualifications

• Must be able to communicate in English with guests and team members.
• Ability to provide legible written communications and basic math calculations.
• Ability to prioritize, organize and make good judgments; dependable.
• Experience in a dining/food service environment is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist with meal set-up and table pre-settings as assigned.
• Wait on guests, make recommendations, and upsell where appropriate.
• Professionally serve food and beverages and monitor guest satisfaction.
• Complete side work, stock stations, and maintain dining area cleanliness.
• Adhere to food safety requirements and health codes.
• Report issues to Housekeeping Supervisor and assist other team members as needed.
• Deliver the DKN Hotels 'Home Away From Home' experience.

Job description

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the job include but are not limited to:

• Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times, while providing personalized service to guests.
• Communicate effectively with guests and fellow team members.
• Assist with meal set-up and set or pre-set tables in dining room as assigned.
• Courteously wait on guests, make recommendations, up sell.
• Professionally serve food and beverages, check-in with and monitor guests experience throughout their visit to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Complete all side work (filling condiment containers, rolling silverware, stocking stations).
• Assist with cleaning dining area. Wipe down and reset the table for the next guests.
• Assist with maintaining cleanliness of restaurant/kitchen to DKN Hotels standards and all health codes at all times.
• Adhere to food safety requirements.
• Report any missing/found articles, or damage to the Housekeeping Supervisor.
• Provide assistance to other team members and departments to contribute to the best overall performance of the department, restaurant and hotel.
• Perform other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management
• Deliver DKNs "Home Away From Home" experience

Independent Judgment Used :

Only within the guidelines established by management and to the extent of operating within DKN Hotels policies and procedures.

Working Conditions/Environment :

Dining areas and kitchen including commercial dishwashing equipment and cleaning agents. Access to entire exterior and interior of property.

Qualifications

Knowledge/Education/Experience :

Previous experience desirable.

Skills/Abilities/Other Requirements :

Must be able to communicate in English with guests, management and team members to their understanding. Ability to provide legible written communications. Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations. Ability to prioritize, organize and make good judgments. Dependable.

Physical Requirements :

Prolonged walking and standing. Repetitive bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting and carrying. Reaching above, at and below shoulder level. Lifting and carrying unassisted up to 30 lbs. of bulk goods. Exposure to cleaning agents.
