Job summary

FirstService Residential is seeking a server/bartender in Kissimmee, FL to deliver exceptional dining experiences for residents. You will manage tables, take orders, and coordinate with bar and kitchen to ensure smooth service in a fast-paced environment.

This full-time role requires strong communication, a positive attitude, and the ability to adapt to varying shifts, including evenings and weekends. A Food Handlers Card and prior serving/bartending experience are essential for success.

Qualifications

  • GED or High School Diploma preferred.
  • Previous serving experience required.
  • At least 1-year experience as a bartender/server.
  • Food Handlers Card.
  • Must be available to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Superior customer service skills / guest service focused.
  • Positive attitude and friendly personality are essential.
  • Ability to represent the restaurant with a professional image.
  • Excellent communication skills, both in person, through emails, and over the phone.
  • Excellent time management skills and multitasking ability.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare restaurant for lunch / dining by setting decorations, condiments, napkins and utensils.
  • Protect establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety and alcohol beverage control policies.
  • Explain the chef's specialties; identify appropriate wines; answer food preparation questions.
  • Stay updated on current menu choices and specials; monitor item availability.
  • Transmit orders to bar and kitchen; record resident choices and special dietary needs.
  • Serve orders and deliver accompaniments from bar and kitchen.
  • Address patron requirements and observe dining process.
  • Maintain table setting; refill water; monitor for spills and needs.
  • Open and pour wine at tableside.
  • Obtain revenues by totaling charges; issue bill; accept payments.
  • Contribute to team effort; perform related duties as needed.
  • Perform basic cleaning tasks; fill in for absent staff.
  • Assist with special events; adhere to grooming and appearance standards.
  • Address customer service issues and refer to management when necessary.
  • Maintain a pristine dining area.

Job Overview

Servers are on the forefront of resident interaction with the dining program for the community. From daily operations of the restaurant and bar to catering and special events. This is a position for an individual who routinely exercises good judgment and exceptional problem-solving skills. As the face of the dining experience, maintaining positivity and diplomacy in a fast-paced environment is critical while maintaining standards and authentically delivering on our Values and Global Service Standards.

Your Responsibilities
  • Prepare restaurant for lunch / dining by setting decorations, condiments, napkins and utensils
  • Protect establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety and alcohol beverage control policies
  • Must be able to explain the chef's specialties; identify appropriate wines; answer food preparation questions
  • Stay updated on current menu choices, specialties and menu deviations, knowing if the kitchen staff is running out of any items, etc.
  • Transmit orders to bar and kitchen by recording resident choices, identifying Resident special dietary needs and special requests
  • Serve orders by picking up and delivering patrons' choices from bar and kitchen; deliver accompaniments and condiments from service bars
  • Respond to additional patron requirements by inquiring of needs, observing dining process
  • Maintain table setting by removing courses as completed; replenishing utensils; refilling water glasses; being alert to patron spills or other special needs
  • Properly open and pour wine at the tableside
  • Obtain revenues by totaling charges; issuing bill; accepting payment; returning credit card and signature slip to Resident
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor
  • Be willing to fill in for absent staff as needed
  • Assist with special events as needed
  • Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently
  • Promptly address customer service issues and refer customers to management when necessary
  • Always maintain a pristine dining area
Additional Duties
  • Practice and adhere to FirstService Residential Global Service Standards.
  • Conduct business at all times with the highest standards of personal, professional and ethical conduct.
  • Perform or assist with any operations as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedules. Notify supervision of unusual equipment or operating problems and the need for additional material and supplies.
  • May participate in any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, policies, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Ensure all safety precautions are followed while performing the work.
  • Follow all policies and Standard Operating Procedures as instructed by Management.
  • Perform any range of special projects, tasks and other related duties as assigned.
