Job Duties And Responsibilities

1. Prepare the room for dining by setting tables with decorations, condiments, candles, napkins, service plates, and utensils.
2. Adhere to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies to protect establishment and patrons.
3. Assist patrons with food and beverage choices by presenting menus, offering cocktails and aperitifs, suggesting courses, explaining chef's specialties, identifying wines, and answering questions.
4. Record patrons' orders and special dietary needs; communicate with bar and kitchen staff.
5. Inform kitchen staff about meal progression and serve orders, accompaniments, and condiments.
6. Address additional patron needs and observe dining processes to ensure satisfaction.
7. Maintain table settings by removing completed courses, replenishing utensils, refilling water glasses, and attending to spills or needs.
8. Conclude dining by thanking patrons and inviting them to return.
9. Handle billing by totaling charges, issuing bills, accepting payments, and returning change or credit card slips.
10. Contribute to team efforts by performing related tasks as needed.
