Job summary

Starbird Chicken is seeking an experienced restaurant leader to oversee daily shift operations and drive guest satisfaction in a fast-paced environment. You will supervise front- and back-of-house teams, coach staff, and assist the General Manager in achieving financial and service goals.

The role emphasizes leadership, training, cost awareness, and adherence to food safety standards, with opportunities for growth and advancement within the Starbird organization.

Qualifications

• Hospitality mindset and guest service orientation
• Ability to build strong employee relationships and train others
• Understanding of cost control, food cost, and waste reduction
• Attention to detail in food quality and presentation
• Experience with restaurant technology such as Aloha, Kitchen Display Systems and POS
• Cash handling and financial transactions accuracy
• Support to the General Manager and leadership in daily operations
• Team leadership and staff development

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily shift operations and ensure smooth front- and back-of-house coordination
• Lead and uplift staff during peak moments and maintain high service standards
• Assist in disciplinary actions and guide team toward company policies
• Help set business priorities and assist the GM in decision making
• Train team members and ensure ongoing development
• Ensure kitchen procedures meet food safety standards and regulations
• Maintain strong verbal and written communication with guests and employees
• Promote Starbird’s core values and service standards

Essentials Of The Job

• Hospitality is a key component in this position, so you should be comfortable with listening to and accommodating our guests and employees.

• Understand and utilize basic cost control, food cost control, profit and loss and minimize waste


• It’s part of our expectation that a candidate has an eye for detail and good food. Delicious, appetizing chicken takes attention and care.


• Understand utilize technology/operating systems such as Aloha, Kitchen Display Systems and a POS system.


• Ability to accurately handle cash and all financial transactions.


• Strong support to the General Manager


• 3 Years in the restaurant business, 2 Years in a leadership role


• Assist in employee disciplinary actions


• Ability to see the big picture and assist the GM in making decisions


• Train team members


• Ensuring incoming staff complies with company policy


• Supervising daily shift operations


• Coordinate daily front- and back-of-house restaurant operations


• Ensure that kitchen procedures meet food safety standards and regulations


• Lead by example and uplift the staff during busy moments.


• Good verbal communication, as well as strong listening and interpersonal skills.


• Ability to identify business priorities and set goals


• Must place a value on diversity and shows respect for others.


• Proven ability to problem solve and handle stressful situations.

• Must be able to stand, bend, stoop, reach, lift, grasp for extended periods of time. Must have sufficient mobility to move and operate in confined work area.


• Must be able to lift and carry supplies and equipment up to 30 lbs; place items on high and low shelves in office, store rooms, service areas and walk-in coolers.


• Must also be able to tolerate temperature changes in kitchen and refrigerated areas.
