Position Summary

Reporting to the Area Director, the Restaurant Manager is responsible for protecting and delivering the Del Taco Brand, growing sales, and maximizing efficiency and profitability by leading the Del Taco Way.

Essential Job Functions
  1. Fully staff the store with quality people.
  2. Recruit, hire, and retain all restaurant employees.
  3. Ensure the team is certified according to current training standards.
  4. Create a service-oriented culture.
  5. Promote an environment of fun and teamwork.
  6. Evaluate performance and recommend salary increases.
  7. Administer disciplinary actions, suspensions, and terminations.
  8. Develop and grow team members and future managers.
Deliver the Brand the Del Taco Way
  1. Execute Del Taco standards consistently.
  2. Maintain the facility and customer areas.
  3. Ensure all equipment is operational and safe.
  4. Deliver quality products adhering to standards.
  5. Follow cleaning schedules and standards.
  6. Ensure employees wear proper uniforms.
  7. Provide a consistent service experience.
  8. Ensure POP and signage are correctly placed.
Achieve or Exceed Sales and Customer Loyalty
  1. Set and communicate sales goals.
  2. Ensure proper staffing according to sales projections.
  3. Increase customer count and check averages.
  4. Identify and execute local marketing opportunities.
  5. Be aware of local events and competition.
  6. Execute speed and service standards.
  7. Implement marketing promotions effectively.
Achieve or Exceed Profitability
  1. Manage staffing levels based on sales.
  2. Comply with labor laws.
  3. Manage inventory to reduce waste and theft.
  4. Follow cash handling procedures.
  5. Perform cash audits and address issues.
  6. Follow safety and health standards.
  7. Manage costs related to R&M, supplies, and services.
  8. Achieve controllable cost targets.
  9. Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
  1. High School diploma or equivalent.
  2. 3-5 years experience in QSR or full-service restaurant.
  3. ServSafe Certified.
  4. Fluent in English; Spanish is a plus.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Organized, detail-oriented, accurate.
  7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  8. Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
  9. Proven leadership and team motivation skills.
Physical Requirements and Environment
  1. Office and restaurant environment; extended standing, sitting, typing, and looking at screens.
  2. Ability to travel to restaurant locations, including overnight stays.
  3. Valid driver’s license and insurance required.
