Job description

EBERLY is seeking an Operation Manager

Please reference required experience prior to applying.

Within Eberly you'll discover four bars, two regularly open to the public and two located within private dining spaces. Our dining room offers contemporary American cuisine alongside a study, rooftop terrace, hidden speakeasy, and the historic Cedar Tavern bar of Greenwich Village in New York City.

We are driven by creativity and place a strong emphasis on food and beverage knowledge, thoughtful hospitality, and attention to detail. We are an upscale dining restaurant, but we create an atmosphere that invites and welcomes everyone. We have a good time taking service seriously.

As Eberly continues to experience significant volume across daily dining, private events, and programming, we are expanding our management team to support the operation and position ourselves for continued growth.

We are looking for an experienced hospitality leader who thrives on the floor but also understands the larger operation behind it. This position will play an important role in daily restaurant operations, staff development, service standards, and the continued improvement of our systems and processes.

The right candidate will be comfortable taking ownership of a busy service while also looking beyond the immediate shift to identify what the restaurant and team need to be successful.

As an important member of our management team, you will receive:
  • Health, Dental, and Vision insurance benefits fully covered
  • 15 days of PTO
  • Quarterly bonus potential
  • Manager meals
  • In-house discounts for friends and family
  • Access to development programs to support your growth
  • A talented and collaborative team of professionals
  • Closed for Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas, and New Year's Day
The Role
Floor & Service Leadership
  • Lead daily floor operations and maintain Eberly's standards for service, hospitality, cleanliness, and presentation
  • Prepare the restaurant for service, including floor plans, pre-shift, lighting, music, staffing, and overall readiness
  • Run pre-shift meetings and communicate relevant service, menu, event, and operational information
  • Manage reservations and the books while making real-time decisions based on volume and business needs
  • Direct and support FOH departments throughout service
  • Make appropriate cuts and labor adjustments based on volume
  • Maintain a strong presence with guests and confidently handle service recovery
  • Oversee opening and closing responsibilities and ensure proper follow-through from the team
Team Leadership & Development
  • Coach, develop, and hold hourly staff accountable to company standards
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, employee feedback, and performance conversations
  • Maintain and improve FOH training materials and resources
  • Lead department meetings and ongoing staff education
  • Identify opportunities to improve communication, accountability, and consistency across the team
  • Support a positive, professional, and high-performing work environment
Restaurant Operations
  • Create and maintain weekly FOH schedules while balancing business needs, events, and labor targets
  • Maintain and improve SOPs that support service, efficiency, and cleanliness
  • Keep operational systems and restaurant information accurate and up to date
  • Assist with repairs and maintenance needs and ensure assigned projects are completed
  • Support inventory, ordering, and purchasing responsibilities as assigned
  • Work closely with culinary, beverage, events, and management teams to keep departments aligned
  • Take ownership of operational projects and follow them through to completion
Financial Awareness
  • Understand labor targets and make operational decisions accordingly
  • Develop a working knowledge of restaurant budgets and operating statements
  • Monitor comps and identify trends or opportunities for improvement
  • Reference budgets when evaluating purchases and operational needs
  • Understand how daily operational decisions impact restaurant profitability
Events & Activations
  • Understand current and upcoming BEOs and communicate relevant information to the team
  • Lead event pre-shifts and assist with event execution
  • Ensure appropriate staffing based on restaurant and event volume
  • Assist with internal events and activations from an operational perspective
  • Work closely with the culinary and events teams to ensure FOH and BOH alignment
Who We're Looking For
  • Minimum 3+ years of restaurant management experience, preferably within upscale or high-volume hospitality
  • Strong floor leadership and a genuine enjoyment of being present during service
  • Experience leading and developing FOH teams
  • Working knowledge of labor management, scheduling, restaurant financials, and cost controls
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Comfortable holding both hourly employees and fellow leaders accountable
  • Strong food, wine, spirits, and hospitality knowledge
  • Experience with restaurant reservation, POS, scheduling, and operational platforms
  • Ability to work collaboratively across culinary, beverage, events, and operations
  • Familiarity with the Austin food and beverage landscape and hospitality community preferred
  • Comfortable adopting technology, including tools and systems to improve productivity, organization, analysis, and operational efficiency

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who sees the bigger picture. This role requires a leader who can run a strong floor, recognize what needs attention beyond the immediate service, and take ownership of making the operation better.
