CyHawk Hospitality, Inc., franchisee for Perkins Restaurant and Bakery, is now hiring Cooks for all shifts, including evenings and overnight shifts at our Perkins Restaurant in downtown Sioux City. Availability on Friday and Saturday nights is required. Pay depends on experience; 3 years of cooking experience is preferred.

Summary of Position

Prepares menu items according to company policies, procedures, programs, and performance standards. Responsible for helping to maintain food costs and kitchen cleanliness at all times. Performs duties to maximize guest satisfaction and ensure a positive work environment, as directed by the Kitchen Manager or Manager on Duty.

Position Activities and Tasks
  • Prepares cooking items
  • Reports to work well-groomed, in a clean uniform, practicing good personal hygiene
  • Uses, maintains, and cleans all kitchen equipment, as well as preparation and storage areas
  • Stocks and rotates products to ensure they are within shelf life standards
  • Knows recipes, menu items, and prep procedures to ensure correct portioning, quality, and timing
  • Prepares prep items according to guest requests, following food safety and sanitation procedures
  • Controls food costs and ensures accurate portioning
  • Utilizes FIFO standards during preparation
  • Maintains cleanliness of kitchen, prep areas, coolers, and storage areas
  • Follows safety procedures concerning food handling, rotation, and storage
  • Conducts line sweeps and 'clean as you go' practices throughout shifts
  • Understands OSHA and health department standards
  • Cleans all equipment and areas as directed
  • Identifies and corrects system issues to maximize guest satisfaction
  • Communicates with management and coworkers about issues and solutions
  • Assists team members with prep and dishwashing tasks
  • Supports front of house staff with cleanliness and guest service
