Job summary

Holiday Inn Portland Airport is seeking a dependable Restaurant Line Cook to join a fast-paced kitchen team. You will help prepare breakfast, dinner, and occasional banquet meals, working with a group that values quality, consistency, and teamwork.

The role requires a willingness to work mornings/evenings with open availability. You’ll benefit from hotel-wide discounts and opportunities for advancement while gaining hands-on kitchen experience.

Qualifications

• Valid OR Food Handlers Card highly preferred (OLCC certification & ServSafe a plus).
• Loves cooking and takes pride in every plate.
• Thrives under pressure during busy meal periods.
• Experience as a line cook or in a commercial kitchen.
• Understands food safety and sanitation standards.
• Can multitask while maintaining quality.
• Dependable and ready to work every shift.
• Good communication with coworkers and restaurant staff.

• Open availability including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare high-quality menu items using standardized recipes.
• Set up and stock your cooking station before each shift.
• Cook and plate food with consistency and attention to detail.
• Maintain proper food temperatures and safe handling practices.
• Assist with prep work including chopping, portioning, marinating, and labeling.
• Work closely with servers to ensure timely ticket completion.
• Help receive and properly store food deliveries.
• Assist with banquet and special event food preparation.
• Complete opening and closing kitchen duties.
• Keep your workstation clean, organized, and inspection-ready throughout your shift.

Physical Requirements
