Job summary

The Post Oak is hiring a Shelfer to manage incoming deliveries, organize stock, and maintain food, beverage, and supply inventories. You will verify items, rotate using FIFO, and keep storage areas clean and compliant with safety standards.

Responsibilities include stocking walk-in areas, monitoring levels, assisting audits, and ensuring proper labeling and dating of products. The role requires teamwork, attention to detail, and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Stockroom or inventory experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Basic math and inventory-counting skills.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Receive and verify incoming deliveries against invoices and purchase orders.
• Unload, inspect, and properly store food, beverage, and restaurant supplies.
• Stock shelves, storage areas, walk-in coolers, and freezers according to company procedures.
• Rotate inventory using FIFO to ensure freshness and minimize waste.
• Maintain organized storage rooms, coolers, and freezer areas.
• Monitor inventory levels and report shortages or discrepancies to management.
• Assist with inventory counts and stock audits.
• Ensure all products are labeled, dated, and stored according to health and safety guidelines.
• Safely operate carts, dollies, and other equipment used for moving inventory.
• Remove and dispose of cardboard, packaging, and waste materials.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and hazard-free work environment.
• Follow all company policies, food safety standards, and health department regulations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
