Job summary

Harrah's Resort Southern California, part of Caesars Entertainment, is seeking a part-time Host to welcome guests, manage seating, and coordinate reservations to ensure a smooth dining experience. The role emphasizes friendly service, accuracy in wait times, and effective communication with servers and guests.

The position requires English fluency, prior hosting or reservation-system experience is a plus, and the ability to lift up to 30 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Greets restaurant guests in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Processes cash handling transactions and to-go orders.
• Arranges for prompt seating of guests in order of arrival or availability of seating accommodations.
• Quotes accurate waiting times, and seats guests when tables are available.
• Familiarizes self with the hotel/casino to provide accurate directions to guests.
• Maintains supplies needed for duties.
• Prepares multiple reports.
• Responds to telephone calls.
• Communicates with servers regarding guests’ preferences or special needs.
• Uses OpenTable platform for guest reservations and manages guest flow; manages equity of tables for servers.

How You Will Create the Extraordinary

What You Will Need

• Literacy and fluency in English

Must be able to obtain a San Diego County Food Handler’s card.

• Previous experience as a host preferred; previous reservation systems experience preferred.
• Above average communication and interactive skills
• Ability to uphold and demonstrate the highest level of integrity in all situations and recognize standards required by a regulated business.
• Acts as a role model to other Team Members and always presents oneself as a credit to Caesars Entertainment and encourages others to do the same. Adheres to all regulatory, company and department policies and procedures.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to lift items up items to 30 lbs.
• Auditory and visual range must include immediate environment.
• Manual dexterity to operate a cash register.
• Mobility to move quickly and easily throughout the restaurant and kitchen areas.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.

Pay: $18.50 per hour

Preference is given to qualified Rincon tribal members and members of other federally recognized tribes.
