The Restaurant General Manager is responsible for establishing and maintaining guest service standards. This role manages all areas of full service and/or quick service operations within the airport, including staff training and retention, hospitality, food and labor costs, shared P&L responsibility, shift management, sanitation, safety, and cleanliness, while adhering to company policies and procedures.
Essential Functions
- Ensure outstanding guest service by creating a guest-friendly environment, greeting and acknowledging every guest, and maintaining high standards, product knowledge, and guest service components across multiple restaurant types.
- Handle guest complaints and comments, using feedback for continuous improvement.
- Plan and assign daily goals, tasks, and instructions to direct reports, including supervisors and assistant managers.
- Drive management and hourly teams in new product launches and promotional programs, guiding implementation and providing training.
- Utilize experience to control financials, personnel, facilities, marketing, food quality, and overall operations.
- Communicate company policies effectively through written and oral channels.
- Monitor sales performance through reports and market comparison.
- Work under pressure, exercising sound judgment and decision-making.
- Transfer knowledge, train staff, and hold managers and shift supervisors accountable for system utilization and guest loyalty tools.
- Identify operational problems and develop solutions with measurable results.
- Ensure compliance with policies, health, and sanitation standards.
- Record charges, refunds, and damages accurately.
- Verify and post business transactions using appropriate tools.
